The Fukuoka Immigration Bureau has jurisdiction over 福岡県(Fukuoka), 佐賀県(Saga), 長崎県(Nagasaki), 熊本県(Kumamoto), 大分県(Oita), 宮崎県(Miyazaki), 鹿児島県(Kagoshima), 沖縄県(Okinawa).
Residents of 沖縄県(Okinawa) fall under the jurisdiction of the Naha District Office.

Useful Information Before Your Visit
Directions (to the Main Office)
The Fukuoka Immigration Bureau main office is located in 福岡市中央区舞鶴(Fukuoka-shi, Chuo-ku, Maizuru), in the heart of downtown Fukuoka with good public transportation access.
- Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line (空港線) Akasaka Station (赤坂駅): Exit from Exit 2 and walk north (toward Maizuru Park) for approximately 7 minutes.
- Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line Nakasu-Kawabata Station (中洲川端駅): About 15 minutes on foot after exiting. Just one station from Tenjin (天神) Station.
- Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line Gion Station (祇園駅): About 12 minutes on foot after exiting. Just one station from Hakata Station (博多駅).
- Nishitetsu (西鉄) Bus: Get off at the “Homukyoku-mae” or “Maizuru” bus stop. Many routes operate from Tenjin or Hakata Station.
From Hakata Station it takes about 10 minutes by subway, and from Tenjin about 15 minutes on foot, making this the most accessible immigration bureau in the Kyushu region.
Tips for Visiting
- Office hours: Weekdays 9:00-12:00, 13:00-16:00 (closed on weekends and public holidays)
- Peak hours: Mondays, the day after public holidays, and morning hours are particularly crowded
- The Fukuoka bureau is the hub immigration bureau covering all of Kyushu and Okinawa. As the foreign population in Kyushu is on an increasing trend, congestion has been rising in recent years. In particular, there are many applications related to technical intern training and specified skilled worker visas.
- Parking: Paid parking lots are available near the building, but being in the city center, parking space is limited. Subway use is recommended.
- ID photo machines and revenue stamp (収入印紙) vending machines are available inside the building.
- If visiting from other prefectures in Kyushu, check the branch offices in each prefecture first. If the branch office can handle your procedure, there is no need to travel to the Fukuoka main office.
