Directions (to the Main Office)

The Naha District Office main office is located within the Naha No. 1 Regional Joint Government Building in the Higawa (樋川) area of Naha.

Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail, ゆいレール) Tsubogawa (壺川) Station: About 10 minutes on foot. Head southwest from the station.
Yui Rail Asahibashi (旭橋) Station: About 15 minutes on foot. This station is also near the Naha Bus Terminal.
Bus: Get off at the Naha Bus Terminal, then about 15 minutes on foot. Alternatively, get off at the Kainan (開南) bus stop, then about 10 minutes on foot.
Car: About 15 minutes from Naha IC via National Route 329. Paid parking lots are available near the building.
Taxi: About 15 minutes from Naha Airport.

Relationship with the Fukuoka Immigration Bureau

The Naha District Office is a district office under the Fukuoka Immigration Bureau. The Fukuoka Immigration Bureau oversees the Kyushu (九州) region and Okinawa (沖縄) as a regional bureau, and the Naha District Office handles immigration and residence affairs specifically for all of 沖縄県(Okinawa).

Since Okinawa is far from the mainland, making it difficult to visit the Fukuoka main office, Okinawa residents should use the Naha District Office main office or branch offices. In particular, residents of outlying islands such as Miyakojima (宮古島) and Ishigaki (石垣) can use the Miyakojima Branch and Ishigaki Port Branch respectively, eliminating the need to travel to the main office.

The Kadena (嘉手納) Branch primarily handles matters related to US military bases. US military personnel (those with SOFA status) follow separate procedures from general immigration procedures, so those who qualify should first contact the legal affairs office at their base.

Tips for Visiting

Office hours: Weekdays 9:00-12:00, 13:00-16:00 (closed on weekends and public holidays)
Peak hours: Mondays, the day after public holidays, and morning hours are particularly crowded
Parking: There is no dedicated parking lot, so please use nearby paid parking lots. Public transportation such as the Yui Rail is recommended.
