Useful Information Before Your Visit
The Hiroshima Immigration Bureau is the regional immigration bureau covering all 5 prefectures of the Chugoku (中国) region. The main office is located within the Hiroshima Legal Affairs General Government Building in central Hiroshima. Branch offices are established in the Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, and Yamaguchi areas, allowing you to apply at the nearest location.
Directions (to the Main Office)
- Hiroshima Streetcar (Tram): From Hiroshima Station, take Line 1, 2, or 6 and get off at “女学院前(Jogakuin-mae)” stop, then about 3 minutes on foot
- JR Hiroshima Station: About 15 minutes on foot from the south exit. Walk straight toward the city hall and near the Kami-Hatchobori intersection
- Bus: Get off at the “八丁堀(Hatchobori)” bus stop for Hiroshima Bus, then about 5 minutes on foot
- Car: About 20 minutes from Hiroshima IC on the Sanyo Expressway. The building’s dedicated parking lot is limited, so public transportation is recommended
Tips for Visiting
- Office hours: Weekdays 9:00-12:00, 13:00-16:00 (closed on weekends and public holidays)
- Peak hours: Mondays, the day after public holidays, and morning hours are particularly crowded
- Parking: There is parking at the building, but the number of spaces is limited. Nearby paid parking lots or public transportation are recommended

Jurisdiction Area Characteristics
The Hiroshima Immigration Bureau covers the entire Chugoku region, with branch offices in major cities of each prefecture. For the Tottori and Shimane areas, the Sakaiminato Branch and Matsue Branch are available; for the Okayama area, the Okayama Branch; for eastern Hiroshima, the Fukuyama Branch; and for the Yamaguchi area, the Shimonoseki and Shunan branches.
