Useful Information Before Your Visit

Directions (to the Main Office)

The Yokohama District Office main office is located in 横浜市金沢区鳥浜町(Yokohama-shi, Kanazawa-ku, Torihama-cho).

JR Keihin-Tohoku Line (京浜東北線) Higashi-Kanagawa (東神奈川) Station: About 10 minutes on foot. Head southeast from the station.
Keikyu (京急) Line Nakakido (仲木戸) Station: About 10 minutes on foot. Located near Higashi-Kanagawa Station.
Seaside Line (シーサイドライン) Torihama (鳥浜) Station: About 5 minutes on foot, making it the nearest station.
JR Negishi Line (根岸線) Shin-Sugita (新杉田) Station: Transfer to the Seaside Line and get off at Torihama Station.
Bus: Available from Yokohama Station or Kanazawa-Hakkei (金沢八景) Station.
Car: About 10 minutes from Yokohama-Shindo (横浜新道) on the Shuto Expressway. Parking is available on the building premises, but capacity is limited.

Relationship with the Tokyo Immigration Bureau

The Yokohama District Office is a district office under the Tokyo Immigration Bureau. The Tokyo Immigration Bureau oversees the Kanto (関東) region and some surrounding prefectures as a regional bureau, and the Yokohama District Office handles immigration and residence affairs specifically for 神奈川県(Kanagawa).

Residents of Kanagawa Prefecture should generally apply at the Yokohama District Office main office. However, Kanagawa residents can also apply at the Tokyo Immigration Bureau main office (Minato-ku, Konan), so if the Tokyo location is more convenient, you may visit the main bureau instead.

In particular, the Kawasaki (川崎) Branch can also be used by residents of 東京都(Tokyo) in 町田市(Machida), 狛江市(Komae), 多摩市(Tama), and 稲城市(Inagi). If you reside in these areas, the Kawasaki Branch may be closer than the Tokyo main office.

Tips for Visiting

Office hours: Weekdays 9:00-12:00, 13:00-16:00 (closed on weekends and public holidays)
Peak hours: Mondays, the day after public holidays, and morning hours are particularly crowded
Parking: Parking is available on the building premises, but capacity is limited, so public transportation is recommended when possible.
